Moved here from California and had almost given up on finding really good Mexican food, especially tacos... that all changed with El Trovador! Their food portions are generous, the ambiance is fun and authentic, the staff are very friendly, and the food, especially the tacos, are amazing!!!

This is one of the best places we have eaten in a really long time. The birria tacos are amazing along with everything else we have ordered! We go at-least once a week from Harford County because the food is just that good!

Authentic for sure and service/workers were all super nice. Food was ready really quick, put in the order and it was ready within 20 minutes. I got the fish and steak tacos, plantanos, and pupusa. All of it was really good! The plantanos were a lil too tough for me, I like them a bit softer and caramelized more but I did travel about 20 home, so it definitely was not as fresh as it was when cooked so I'm not taking points off for that. Steak was a bit fatty which I also wasn't a huge fan of but it was mostly pretty lean. I would definitely recommend this place!!

Back at El Trovador. Again, we had the fajita quesadillas-- these are just so delicious. Make sure you get chips and salsa so you have some salsa to dip your quesadillas in! We went to MacAvoy's Liquors next door to snag some BYOB as usual. Get the Tres Leches cake for dessert! You won't be disappointed. Thanks, El Trovador! We'll be back.

Lived in Phoenix for 23 years. Best tacos I've had since I moved back here three months ago. If you like traditional Mexican food, do it up.

What a fun and delicious evening we enjoyed at El Trovador! Alma, our server, was delightful and friendly. We really like that this restaurant is a BYOB with no corkage fee. We started off with fresh chips, salsa and guacamole. The salsa was just perfect - not too spicy, and the guacamole was freshly prepared. We each enjoyed something different for dinner. I had the ground beef tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese (Americano way). My husband had the Bistec Encebollado (grilled steak with grilled onions) rice, salad and two tortillas. Our friends enjoyed the Chicken Enchiladas with Salsa Verde, rice and beans and the Chile Relleno (stuffed with queso) with rice, beans, and two tortillas. For our sweet ending, we chose the Tres Leches cake. It was a generous portion and was delicious. Thank you for a great evening.
